Daniel O'Connell

President and COO
Law Study Systems

Dan has over ten years of experience with online education and Web development, demonstrated by several successful roles as an employee and freelancer. A graduate of the Multimedia program at Columbia College Chicago, Dan uses his extensive knowledge and experience of Web technology to develop tools and products that facilitate communication and enhance education outcomes.

While serving as Manager of Information Technology at Catholic Theological Union in Chicago, Dan provided the technical leadership to develop cutting-edge techniques for producing media-rich blended learning courses. He also oversaw all aspects of CTU's Information Systems, including the hosting and development of seven Websites.

As Creative Director for Learning Insights, Dan provided creative vision and managed the functional processes by which this e-Learning publisher designed and developed best-in-class courseware for business professionals in leading business enterprises (AIG; Goldman Sachs; DuPont) and graduate schools of business (Kellogg; Olin).

For three years, Dan instructed after-school and summer Web development programs for Tech37 at Benito Juarez High School and Gage Park High School, as well as community groups in North Lawndale. Tech37 is a program of After School Matters, a Chicago based not-for-profit that prepares Chicago teens for their future by engaging them in hands-on, interactive activities in the out-of-school hours.

When he is not online (which is rare), Dan likes to cook, enjoys drowning golf balls around the Chicago-land area with his Dad and sons, and can often be heard saying, "the Bears could win it all this year."

Dan is married and has three sons.
